The Earth of Old

The Earth of Old

A Poem by Mark
"

For change.

"

Once we were at peace living in unison with our planet.

Taking only what we need and giving back just as much.

However in these days of new the water has become so saturated with death bringing chemicals that the taps of our children spew forth toxic waste.

These children unknowing and innocent are soon turned into monsters of our ignorance and denial.

If the explorers of long ago were to try and find their way around at sea they would be lost, for they could not see the stars for the smog.

We are losing our way, our health, our quality of life, soon enough we will loose our lives in the soon to be frying pan of global warming's kitchen.

The earth of old... a warm mamory growing cold in the hearts of david suzuki and all the people who rant to the earless monsters we call world leaders.

But what do they lead us into?
to turning our beautiful blueberry of a world into a rotten and charred up lump of carbon, well why don't we lead ourselves into healing the generations of silent acceptance of how things are.

If one steps forward the one behind will follow in suit. Will you take that step?

Good message as well as question. One thing to change though is in the first line. I think you meant "our" and not "out".
