O Mama Earth

O Mama Earth

A Poem by 78%H2O

Well the miles stretch out
like ivy 'cross the ground
devouring all my maps
We know what we want
with out a doubt
we're just not sure where it's at

But we've come so far
through smog and stars
and sin and sand and trees
Now it's the end of the day
and there's nothing in our way
but nothing has never stopped me

(chorus)
O Mama Earth, just give me up
I've got bigger places to see
For if this wind don't lift me up
I'ma just walk across the sea
(x2)

I stood in ovation
at a great initiation
as your skin imitated the sun
Charting out the seasons
of the various regions
through all the strange lands we had come

Then you shed it altogether
so that you could burn forever
when you turned into fire
and the soil washed away
in the brilliant light of day
under the magnitude of our desire

(chorus x2)

Then we danced off the dockside
into the night sky
when finally we came home
and we were carried away
in the star spangled waves
as the milky way overflowed

So we lived off of wishes
as we swam like fishes
through the falling galaxies
and as the whole world collapsed
we began to think perhaps
this is where we've always wanted to be

I have tasted the faery fungus and haven't stopped vomitting words like runes ever since. My brain makes me sick to my stomach, and while senses can be deceitful, pleasures never fail. Which is sayi.. more..
