No Homework!

No Homework!

A Poem by Maryum Mazhar
"

"
Homework is boring
Homework is lame
A true mean of torture
One big ugly pain

I don't understand
Why my teacher hands out
The you-know-what everyday
Though we sulk and we pout

"No teacher! Oh teacher,
You are ever so good
Why MUST we do homework
When It's understood

That essays are painful
Subtraction is mean
Book review? Who needs it?
The thought makes me green!"

I wonder when they'll find
For this fatal disease
A praise worthy cure
So us kids live in peace

But 'till this remedy comes,
I've got to go do
My chemistry homework;
(Tomorrow it's due)

Homework can't be judged black and white. Too much of it can waste your free time and make you an unhappy person, too little of it can do what Zainul says. As long as there is a balance, the world can learn peacefully. Awesome writing by the way, although it was in a negative perspective

No riddance from hw and cw.
It makes your knowledge strong through practice,
Practice makes a girl (of 14/15...) perfect!
HW saves one from the wasting by video games and bad movies or tv serial.
Finally you were doing your chemistry hw
You are really really a very talented girl.
You wrote this lovely poem for fun and release of frustration.
This reflects your intelligence and patience.
School management will now understand how annoying is hw.
They will consider this case seriously and find some alternative approaches to education.
Congratulations Maryum for the amazing write.

Lol I think it's funny how one person have such strong and negative emotions towards a simple and common thing such as homework. Though tedious and laborious as they might be, they serve as a reminder of what you've learned, a reinforcement of your knowledge. Very funny.

Rhymes are great! The structure holds up very well and there is a nice tone to the piece too. I think you have something here, stick to poetry and when you get older, you'll be a master!

I hated homework, too! If I didn't get it in school, what makes you think I can figure it out on my own at home. I didn't mind practicing instrumental music at home, though, because that was something I wanted to do. They wonder why kids are, always, losing their books; because they take them home, instead of leaving them at school where they belong. Great write!!
