Gotta Name Those Rocks

Gotta Name Those Rocks

Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do.

Gotta Name Those Rocks

I took a bunch of rocks
And set ‘em on a table.
The first one I named Roxie
And the next one I named Mabel.

But the third one was an igneous
With sedimentary load
In a squirty, little squat
So I named him Iggy Toad.

And the fourth one and the fifth one
Couldn’t bother with the rest
One is named Leona Helmsley.
The other, Imdah Best.

But the one with pink and purple
And the sparkly insides
I think I’ll wait until the spring
And let Ms Crystal Quartz decide.

I love the diction you use in this poem. And your author's note is priceless.

I'd love to know what, exactly, inspired this!
