Travelogue

              There be a rusty river

            running through my town.

 

            It turns the sandy beaches

            to a rusty brown.

 

            It scrapes the piers and pylons

            with an awful sound.

 

            This rolling rusty river

            where the minnows drown.

Sounds likes what's feed into the cerebral cortex.
Although I live in a city of filth, NYC, great
artists stay close to town in these days and have
left this place as a hazard.

I read more than a rusty river in this piece. I may be wrong.
It is lyrical almost. Simple, excellent rhymes. Enjoyed this quite a bit.

Love the poem; the rhythm and rhyme, the subject matter. A well written one. Where the minnows drown, interesting to think of a fish drowning, but then again, it's a rusty river. It was fun to read.
