Frights

Frights

A Poem by Matt G
"

The scary things that wait for us at night!

"
I lay here feeling safe in my bed,
Having just watched a movie about the undead,
Listening to the vent blow air,
Wondering what lurks in the dark,
About whats really there,
The vampires and the winged beasts,
About the mummies and cannibals wanting to make me their feast,
Tentacled creatures hiding in the dark,
Skellies and zombies rising out of the cemetery just off the park,
But what frightens me more aren't the monsters or ghosts,
Its that there isn't anything there that frightens me the most.

I like that your pieces are short, and to the point, yet they read so easily. You definitely have a way with words. I love the last line; I find it to be very true. Amazing read.
