Seesaw happiness

Seesaw happiness

A Poem by MattWheatus
"

Recognising the impact of seasons on my mood.

"

A summer barbeque, one of many dancing through the summer calendar

Spots of sunshine across my life where friends dine, drink wine

My affection for those around me soars, I feel potent with love

Centre of attention, a joke, an anecdote. These will be the times you remember.

I will be the lead character in the shining glory of “do you remember when…”

Dark winter nights, rain tapping on my window like natures precocious child at the human zoo; come look at Mr Lonely. Do not feed the animals.

Cabin fever, caged in by the rain and snow, diary full of mere promises for tomorrow.

Mr Lonely the hitchhiker on the side of the road of his life, thumb held out but still no takers… waiting for the summer when the traffic picks up

What a great poem .. the difference between seasons, the changes of how one can feel - sometimes that can be so true. One time happy and in the thick of life .. another time and it's one darned thing after another, loneliness hits.

The lines: ' .. rain tapping on my window like natures precocious child at the human zoo; come look at Mr Lonely. Do not feed the animals. Cabin fever, caged in by the rain and snow, diary full of mere promises for tomorrow ' - really hits the spot, finely put.

This poem says to me of the many seasons of emotions, and
what we go through, and the memories we keep of them.

Good write, keep up the good work:)

Summer is when everything seems to come to life, while winter is when it freezes. I still say, the contrast creates balance. I like the title. It is very coherent to the thought presented.

great! i love the transition. The best part was you made me stop and imagine summer which was much different than just reading another poem and moving on. I was captivated.

I like the contrast between seasons that you created. Summer seems happy and bright then winter not so much. I loved the last line in the first verse. I feel like that character now and I'm too young for that. I also love nevermind I loved the whole thing. I was just about to point out almost every line. I really enjoyed this.

Summer love, love of life, there is nothing like it! How I long for summer to come back around. Great write, makes me wish summer were here!

It's a very relatable poem, very simplistic but you made so many images run through my mind at once.
I like it.

Very nice poem! Where I live is the whole opposite, winter is the more festive time! Love the feeling you put into this poem, you definitively have a good time in summer with your friends and expressed that really good in here!
