And Now Your Local Evening News

And Now Your Local Evening News

A Poem by Mavis Bard

So meets the fatal frame at 29.7
Live feedings digitized for high-definition pleasure
But what pleasure is there
Watching a widow cry
Watching her babies die
Watching the world fall away into chaos
As foundations of faith are shaken by doubt

And when you don’t believe
Believe in a leap of faith
Believe in sertraline

Drown me, sertraline
Just drown me, please

Right when you think it’s bad it just keeps getting worse
Celebrities with fallacies outrank kids with guns
Sports stars stuck-up egos
Phenomenal disasters dramatized
No sympathies for those suffering
No praises for those achieving
Just waiting for tomorrow’s forecast

Oh, and by the way
We have a leap of faith
Believe in sertraline

Drown me, sertraline
Just drown me, please
