Speedbump

Speedbump

A Poem by Mavis Bard

I miss my little Speedbump
Where have you gone
So soft and fuzzy
Weird and buzzy
I smile at your yawn
At the foot of my bed
You take up all of my space
And then shed

I miss my little Speedbump
You beg for attention
I tickle your nose
You drool like a hose
Too much affection
At the sight of old Cloud
You pounce on his paws
Hissing loud

I miss my little Speedbump
Six lives to go
Two from a car
And a furnace bar
But I just need to know
If you can survive
Death several more times
You must be alive

I miss my little Speedbump
I search low and high
In the woods around
And busy town
But you I can’t find
Cloud prances around
With a smile but
I still frown

I miss my little Speedbump
I cry out my eyes
Such a cute kitty
So simple and pretty
So happy even under grey skies
And here I now lay
With old Cloud that was
Brown but now grey

I miss my little Speedbump

Well written, reminds me of soemthing I heard many years ago. I've seen many cats cheat death and it is so sad to see them lose!
