Savory sea

Savory sea

A Poem by Maxwell Ryder

Sediment falls to the riverbed of my heart,
Sentiments build their islands,
Anger graffitis its walls,
Hate slows the flow,
My soul fills and chokes in a flash flood,
The debris of every love has piled up
Threatens my organs of passion,
Cataracts dam my spawning
In our ocean
Which encompasses us.
I died in the sweet water,
searching for the savory sea.
