I am me

I am me

A Poem by Maxwell Ryder

I wanted to be you once;
Then I lived a little,
Thought it through,
And realized
I am me;
You are you -
And there wasn’t
A helluva lot
I could do,
But be me.

You were born an original, don't die a copy. We can only be ourselves.

We have to learn to love ourselves, faults and all. I found that quite difficult when I was young, but not now. Settled into being me, as you have in your poem. Very relatable Maxwell.
