It's the bacon

It's the bacon

A Poem by Maxwell Ryder

On the bayou,
I take my BLT
with mayo,
my bait and tackle;
I dab the water
at my fishing hole
looking for
nibbles, tremors,
my knee
propping up
the pole.
the catfish have
such good smell,
I see two circling
the water below,
making swells.
It's the bacon
above they smell,
I know.

Not surprised the fish are tempted by the bacon. Nothing like a bacon butty or a BLT sammich. Great start to a day. Fish think so too. Nice little write here Maxwell. All good wishes

On this cold morning of 25 you just took me on a child hood delight. Eating on the waters shore dodging the sun while shopping for supper.
I loved it.

Bacon, temptation for us and maybe the fish? BLT are my favorite and thank you Maxwell for sharing the amazing poetry.
