A portrait

A Poem by Maxwell Ryder

Poems
find cracks
in the sidewalk
and spring to life;
chaste
and youthful
just long enough
to sit for a portrait
in my journal.

I like this short little piece. You give the idea of writing such a personality. I'm thinking of little kids who are too busy playing to listen to their parents who want them to sit still for something. Interesting thoughts here. :)
