Little People

Little People

A Poem by Max Whipple III
"

Why so small?

"

the small sees the small

shutting out the rest

ignored are the ones that do not reject

too much for so small a sight

the priorities imbalanced

the view is sharp and dangerous

cutting out the rest

forgotten are the curiosities of life

not enough for so large a world

the perspectives imbalanced

the thoughts are narrow and unforgiving

casting out the rest

ignored are the ones that do not follow

too much for so small a mind

the perceptions imbalanced

the actions are righteous and assured

throwing out the rest

forgotten are the complexities of life

not enough for so large a people

the presumptions imbalanced
