Surrender

Surrender

A Poem by Michael (Letters and Lifelines)

I don't know for sure,
But I'd like to say,

That my hope is secure,

That love finds a way.

So don't wait.
Just take me.
Before it's too late.

I never found my way.

Like a leaf in a stream,

I live so astray.

I'm lost in a dream.

So please stay.
Just a while.
So I can see you smile.

I've always been alone.

And I've learned to deal.

But now, on my own,

You're all I feel.

So don't wait.
Just take me.
Before it's too late.

I watch for your glow,

And the warmth that it brings.

Then I melt like snow,

On the first eve of Spring.

So please stay.
Just a while.
So I can see you smile.

I love you more than you know.

And I couldn't lie.

I couldn't let you go.

Even if I tried.

So take me.
As your anything.
Because you're my everything.

Thank you for the review!
Well
What a pure message of noble emotion towards a person you value .....
And true love only means to place this person you admire in the highest place you know of
Very endearing

This is very beautiful, my new friend. Your consistency, attention to detail, & the simple, clear emotion this leaves me with are reasons I find you as a writer, as well as this piece, very respectable. Your compliments & kind words mean even more now (I hope I can say that without coming across as rude).
Excellent.
