This one is so different than your other poetry but still remarkably beautiful
"Do not wander I'm here" That line brings a sense of security which is a newer characteristic coming out in your poetry, most of your narrators sound lost of confused but not this one. Rather now, the narrator is watching it's past self? (Just a guess) Its an interesting switch and you executed it beautifully

aaaand the interpretation you suggest never crossed my mind but makes a lot of sense - i always considered as the narator talking to the reader himself but this may be an internal dialogue - maybe the narrator talking to himself through one of his personas? in this case, the secure one - which is of extreme need to the "headmaster" (get it?) but yeh..interesting

or maybe, it is because of when i wrote this, i was on a phase of my life which was way more stable which allowed my inspiration to be more out-oriented than in-oriented - other poems from back then have this similar aspect i think

Love the introductory alliteration Winter.
This is filled with intrigue but not as opaque as you normally pen. That's not a neggy critique - just an observation.
I think grabbing the hook but never getting caught is a skill that's worth mastering.

I'm aware of it, this is one of the first poems I wrote, and one of the few I can call poetry without hesitation. Do you have it too? Moments when your inspiration has a totally different feel? And you end up producing something different from the usual and sometimes it's so different than usual that you don't even comprehend it fully.....and you're left feeling like "someone must have posessed me and written this for this is not my style"

I dont even have a style to refer to so they're all different lol. But looking back over pieces I do think - "What was I thinking?" or "I can't even remember being in THAT frame of mind." lol
