Back and forth,

back and forth,

I'm fine and then I'm  crazy

back and forth, 

back and forth,

it's clear and then it's hazy.

Up and down

up and down,

the coaster rolls without consent.

Up and down,

up and down,

the plastic horse will not relent.

In and out

in and out,

The darkness reins, the light vacated.

In and out, 

in and out,

my world again illuminated.

Round and round,

round and round,

the constant whirling making me dizzy.

Round and round,

round and round,

perpetual movement keeps me busy.

The rhythms here are a little inconsistent with the first stanza to me. Just my opinion.

Maybe so, but the 3rd and last line of each stanza have the same amount of syllables. Plus, it gets a little deeper into a dizzying effect by the last stanza. The first stanza's 3rd and last line have 7 syllables and it progresses to 10 by the last stanza. Just my opinion. :-) There was a method to my madness!!

I see what you mean, I stand corrected. Yes, it does make sense now. I was thinking of the first stanza like a rhythmic song. But Like being on a merry-go-round that gets almost out of control.
