Falling apart

Falling apart

A Poem by Melanie Jane Boicourt Shanks

Everything falls apart

that's how it is on this earth.

You are falling apart

from the moment of your birth.

Your hair falls out.

Your skin falls off.

This happens every day.

So you grow more hair

and you grow more skin

until it all falls away.

Ugh! Never quite thought about it that way before. Matter of fact realism. And something to think about. . .

yes, the process of decay takes a lot of effort actually. Very intense, very smooth. Great piece!
Thx for sharing.

I think the second line is a little wordy, but other than that it all flowed well. I liked this piece, I didn't love it though, and I'm not quite sure why. But it was short and sweet and it looked at things differently :) best of luck, and keep writing

wow this is very daring statement i think..We all know that it is true but i guess theres always a pessimistic and optimistic point of view...we all want it to be the optimistic point because its more positive to think that we are living for a purpose and that we are not just living to die..its hard to accept but we have to..sometimes the cold blunt truth is better than a hot lie..but it just depends on the person that is on the other side of this message..I enjoyed this one..i love your work that i have read because it makes me think..you say so much within a short amount of words..and the rhyming makes it that much better..

What a disturbing look at life! Very bold and straightforward. I especially like how the poem does a circle and then "until it falls away." Keep writing!
