A Moments' Change

A Moments' Change

A Poem by Melanie Jane Boicourt Shanks
"

Dealing with a teenager who has been diagnosed as bipolar.

"

Restless and bored

you pace the floor

chewing your fingers away.

The ring of the phone,

you are transformed

today is a good day.

You laugh and you joke.

You talk to your friends.

It seems you're in a good mood.

You ask for a ride

which I cannot provide,

then here comes the attitude.

I understand some,

(you want to have fun),

but your fits are just out of control

I am tired of your wars.

You destroy walls and doors

and guess who must pay the toll.

Crafted well, you have captured this nature of being Bi-polar and how it effects so much in everyday life.

This is a re-ocurring them with in alot of writers words these days.
Perhaps it's in the toxic waters that we have to drink?

I have respect for those who have to deal and perservere through life dealing with this issue.
Have courage, and know that someone diagnosed with true Bi-Polar disorder, can't function in life with out there medication.

Thanks for sharing! :)

Well crafted ...

a nearly journal type feel ..
the formatting of it in short doses
gives the feel of the short back n' forth joy and rages of the bipolar
and gradual exasperation of the parent

I see sooooo many teens and people in their twentys bound by this....makes me wonder
if it's not something ...in the chicken or milk...
just waaaay too many not to ponder

Props for handling it...teens are not easy as it is...( I know I wasn't )

stay encoraged

Blesssssssssss
