Good Morning

Good Morning

A Story by Gabriel Miller

Waking up early only happens once a year. That one morning when lunch is already packed perfectly away, the smell of eggs wafts through the halls, when you take your time; relaxed and pondering about the day to come.  It only happens once a year.  Always a gorgeous morning.  Trotting to the bus never seemed so pleasurable.  A call of a golden finch plays in harmony with the gentle breeze.  Trees sway beautifully as if to say their farewells of Summer.  At school, rules are examined and guidelines reinforced, yet even this does not bother you.  It is the first day.  It is an exciting day.  Today you will enjoy this institution.  Today the laughter of old friends and the sounds of opportunity seem to chime.  From then on notes rush, pencils fly, paper shreds, books turn, and exams clutter your already perished mind.  But for now, just this day, it seems you may lay back and relish the sights.

For AP I wrote this as a tribute to the first day of school. I'm thinking maybe it can be turned into an essay but as of now I'll leave it as a short narration
