Test Of Time

Test Of Time

A Poem by Melissa Kester

Even after all these years
I think of you and come to tears
Even after all this time
I look for you inside my mind
I hear your voice, I see your face
I feel the warmth of your embrace
And when I wake alone in bed
Takes hold the aching, loathing, dread
The painful tearing in my chest
The blood that soaks through my dress
I scream your name, yet you won't hear
The silent distance - filled with fear
I long to see you, to feel your kiss
I still remember the utter bliss
Of Heaven's lips, ocean's eyes
Of velvet's voice and scarlet lies
Even after all this time
I can't let go - I can't unwind
Even after all these years
I love you still
I always will
I won't forget
I'll always regret

Such a longing... Such a strong love/attachment. You can really feel the emotions in this and how strongly the character feels about the other person. It's a shame loves this strong never seem to work, it always ends in the worst heartbreak... Thanks for sharing, was really good!
