Miles From Tomorrow

Miles From Tomorrow

A Poem by Melissa Kester

You stare at the setting sun, while I watch it rise
And somewhere in all the distance our gazes will meet
And though time will stand still for no man nor woman kind
In the hours that part us you'll hear a soft beat
The rhythm of my soul is drumming in my heart
Can you hear it echo across the sea - will you return my tune?
A day lies ahead when the ocean will part
In the night I will run to you, my path lit by the moon
Tomorrow will come and the miles will not matter
For then, I will be with you and all will be right
I trust that with you I will never again shatter
You are the other half of me, I've found by guided light
