My Childhood

My Childhood

A Poem by Melissa Kesead
"

Remember being a kid and everything was okay, no matter what?

"

I sit here thinking

about my childhood

mischevious times

the bad, the good

jumping rope

hide and seek

swimming naked in a creek

learning all the reasons why

some say hello, some say goodbye

loving people

hating too

receiving kisses

because I was blue

getting babied

when I was sick

being favorite

getting first pick

raising a fuss

when I didn't get my way

having a picnic

on a sunny day

wearing new dresses

with bows in my hair

being a tomboy

saying "I don't care"

climbing trees

playing in a puddle

getting my hair brushed

loving to cuddle

growing older

one day at a time

knowing that all

these memories are mine

Amazing work. This is so sweet, you can picture all of these things happening as a child grows older. Really great write!

Hey. :]

I'm the Moderator of the contest you entered with this poem, Emotions.
While this is a GREAT poem, it does not meet the theme.

Otherwise, you'd be given an award for sure. :]
