Grasshopper

"I am a grasshopper

With origami wings,

Fragile yet capable 

Of surprisingly many things.

Splendid in my splendor

Simple, tender, and true

Passed my tough exterior -

Not so tough, from me to you.

Like a ballet dancer

The pointed-toed pirouette

For me, a Pilates move

As I aim myself at sunset.

Capture not the clouds,

But poke them as I go

Counting on such turbulence

To silver-linings grow."  

Grasshopper with origami wings

Spearmint green and clean-teeth white,

Sing to me your justice song

Until turns day from night.
