Not One

Not One

A Poem by Melobldnfr
"

Perpetuate

"

12/16/17

So you put your fear in a mirror-lined box

And you swallow it like a grape...

Perpetuate...

The path of least resistance.

Navigate

Away from completion,

While I pedal toward it.

Instigate

Your reasoning that I am the tension;

Yay, but not the prevention.

You say you like my words;

Would that be just their sound,

But not the fact they are profound?

How can you like them

And them make no difference in you?

Heyoka,

Misconstrued,

Complicate our conjugation

With mass-produced perturbation.

No, you and I can be no nation

So long as you curve to my straight

And straight to my curve.

Some things I can let cook.

Some things I can let bake.

Some things I can let simmer.

Some things I can let shake.

But this, it is not one.

These, they are not one.

This, it is not one.

These, they are not one.
