A Woman's Beauty

We are not beautiful by the size of our breasts

that are "treasured" by your caress.

We are not beautiful by the curves of our waists

that are "embraced" by your strong arms.

We are not beautiful by the width of our hips

that are "enveloped" by your greedy fingers

 

We are not beautiful by the shape of our a*s

that are "cossetted" by your prison-like hands.

We are not beautiful by the figure of our body

that is "traced" by cheating nails.

We are beautiful by our own thoughts

that we keep to ourselves.

We are beautiful by our personality

that is shiny and sometimes fiery.

We are beautiful by our strength

and noticeably our weaknesses.

Women, be who you are

Don't be afraid to be who you want

because a woman's beauty is the scariest thing.

Author's Note

Been editing and re-editing and hesitating and re-hesitating on this for months, but I finally am ready to publish.

Show no mercy, give me critiques and criticism. There will be a sequel so hold up on the negative feminism/men-imism shit.

To say you've not written in awhile u manage to be cohesive with the overall message, one point of critique me and my poet friend sat behind me noticed is some of the words could of been replaced with more powerful ones, such as "shiny". My friend also added that he felt the flow seemed abit stop and starty, like a list. Overall good effort though, u can tell uve matured as a writer in the sense ur content has changed. Keep it up
