Sew the ink a little deeper

Sew the ink a little deeper

A Poem by Mey

The needle

Slips beneath skin

Barely breathing, the seconds pass

This is worth it

I need this idea

To be with me forever

I must remember this

Concept

A rough rag

Drags across

Skin

Pain and permanence

For all good things

You must bleed.

The needle

Slips beneath skin

Barely breathing, the seconds pass

Contemplation leads to madness

I shut down my mind

I do no ask

Why it had to be this

Symbol

A rough rag

Drags across

Skin

My new skin looks at me

A symbol from a dream

An idea lost to the real world

A concept of form over functionality

The needle

Slips beneath skin

Barely breathing, the seconds pass

Ebony lines give

Shape

To eyes the green of absinthe

Watching from the back of wings

Hadn't thought about it this way but it really is sewing ink into your skin.
