Dear Happiness

Dear Happiness

A Poem by M

Dear Happiness,

Where did you go so adruptly?
Was I not good enough for you,
that you couldn't have stayed a little longer?
Did I not deserve you in some way?
I ask a lot of questions.
This is one of the few things I know.
I'm just trying to understand you.
Do you often leave people who need you the most?
I can't say that I'm not confused.
It's kind of ironic really
How you'll make promises of smiles and laughter
But when times get hard and rain begins to pour
You my umbrella have left me
To be soaked and alone by life's misfortunes
I wish I could grasp you
Just hold you in my arms
I wish I could see you so I knew for sure you were real
And not just a figment of my imagination
I hope that someday you will return to me
It's not easy being lonely
Until then I'll wait for you my friend.

Sincerely,

M

It is noble to wait on a friiend. Though one has to wonder if that friend will return. I have had a friend for 56 years We disagree about everything except one. We like each other
