When They Find ThisA Poem by Michael PisherWhen our society is long gone what will they find?advice for the sensory: permutation. we found them eating the earth. holding fast to rigid guidelines and yet- denouncing static thought. years- and piece of mind. they say electronics. that is the place where I eat the silence, one bite at a time. arctic winds shield us but against us/ our excursion ruins [externalities] concrete and snow weathered metals, plastics. glass and art. The sociable scent of the nuclear sun. here it is cold. the home of kings- saints- and broken men. -MICHAEL PISHER © 2010 Michael Pisher |
