When You Get Back From Grenoble

When You Get Back From Grenoble

A Poem by Michael W. Farrelly

And if upon your return
you feel some desperate need to undress...
...please feel free to undo,
unzip,
but do not repress
or fall
from my hips
and I will carry you like a river.

I like the subtle mystery here with the 'if'. Are we unsure of her return altogether or of her feelings upon returning. Short and sweet but feel it is missing something. Really like the last line 'like a river', yes.
