Acid!

Acid!

A Poem by Michael Lopez
"

Lysergic acid diethylamide-25, your my only friend....

"

As the acid bends my surroundings.

The illusion of life comes clear.

My walls melt,

and the colors come alive.

My windows prism call me to play,

and this laughter just won't go away.

Only my eyes can describe.

What my mind only feels.

Finding premature enlightenment.

Only to have it slip from my fingers.

My temperary insanity.

Is becoming almost to much fun.

Real vivid, with good imagery. A bit on the short side; I think another stanza and a half would do this poem a lot of justice. Loved the line, "Finding premature enlightenment, only to have it slip from my fingers." I know exactly what you're talking about.

PS....forgot to add that in this stanza: My windows prism call me to play,

I believe it should read window, and add a 's' to prisms...read it aloud,
it sounds better.

To me, this poem is about escaping into a illusion, but sometimes
we must be careful not to walk out too far because we may not
find our way out. AD
