A Poem by Michael X
"

"
Deep blue horizon
A seagull soars out of view
Ocean touches sky
~~~
Early morning sun
The start of a brand new day
My soul awakens
~~~
Endless ocean view
The day goes out with the tide
Memories follow
~~~
Raindrops form a stream
A leaf is sailing away
My heart waves goodbye
~~~
An eagle in flight Where wings touch the horizon Imagination

Well done Michael. I find Haikus very hard to write (or at least to write well and meaningfully), but you seem to do it effortlessly, so I'll stick to Senryus and leave Haikus to pros like you.

A very lovely treat of good Haikus. Imagery and simplicity are paramount. You bring out the good and the added value...::: ))))

Each one holds a bit of emotion to them. The images stand out.

Well done.

I really like the way you worded this beautiful poem. Your thoughts flowed so easily and I really like the third stanza (I think that's what you would call them) because it, to me, says a great deal in so many words. You shed the memories of yesterday and start the new day with a clean slate. the person you were yesterday dies and is reborn on each new day, waiting to write on the new page. I loved it. Thank you for posting this and never stop writing.

even though a couple are actually senryu...these are breathtaking...and this form is so good because of the brevity...tough to do these...

nicely done, Michael..

I noticed a theme in these haikus: lovely imagery. Each one brought an image to my mind. Nicely penned.
