A Poem With No Meaning

A Poem With No Meaning

A Poem by Michael X
"

...

"
I can speak the language of fallen angels,
we don't know how to use words very well.
This passion has no life or meaning.
But if I could read your thoughts,
what would your open heart say to me?

Sometimes, I feel like people are aliens
or maybe I'm a mind of a different breed
or maybe the mind is just a window.
If I could look through the window
of your soul, what planet would I see?

These thoughts are so far out,
I travel through space when I close my eyes.
I'm trying to make it to Heaven's gate
to steal the language of the angels.

I desperately need the right kind of words
for my fading life story, the kind of words
that turn ordinary men into poets.

you have turned, Michael...

reading your words proves you have become a poet...i think we, as poets, are the ones who feel like aliens on a planet of mis-understanders...

at least sometimes...we feel a different race altogether---

really relate to this one...still trying to write that "one poem" "the" one.

Silence can be spoken in breaths and passion - making words meaningless against the Beating of our hearts

This has a solid voice. Every writer goes through this emotion and you displayed it well here on a level we have all experienced.. Solid write.

Very well written. I only wish I could write as eloquently in poems as this.

What I enjoy most about this poem is that it illustrates what I think many poets struggle with. Whether we can successfully convey the messages of our poems through our language, so that others receive it the way we intended. Especially since, as Poets, we have a unique perspective on how we view the world around us, as well as how we describe that world. An excellent write.

do we really look for vulnerable souls? are they the easiest to handle? or does mystery pulls like a tide all the attention.

It would say... I am the same as you....here long past the time I should have departed. Here only to look at these strategies beings sideways. Perplexed that they can't forgive each other...I'm fallen and have to see myself everyday...in unforgiven. Thought provoking piece!

Hey, I appreciate the kind words, thanks Starz!
Practice makes perfect as in any sphere but luck, timing, fashion - so many variables can come into play to be 'discovered'.
I watched Turner the movie today. The artist used many avant garde techniques in his work and was lauded a genius. Within a few years he became a subject of popular ridicule for those exact same painting techniques!!
Public is fickle.
Write for yourself!!

You are welcome. ....::::
if you keep writing like this you won't have to search for meaning - it lives in these amazing words you have crafted together. this made me think that our lives are all like poems. i can tell that you have put your soul into this. "I'm trying to make it to Heaven's gate
to steal the language of the angels." - outstanding. happy new year, poet.
