Somewhere Along The Seashore

Somewhere Along The Seashore

A Poem by Michael X
"

...

"
These words are nothing more than
a simple poem that tries so hard to say so much,
yes, these words know pain, yet remain optimistic,
but deep in the heart, there is a message,
and a meaning that longs for better days.

I walk with these curious thoughts
along a gray shoreline, nothing but September skies
for miles and miles, it feels like I can see forever.
A lonely seagull carries the world
on its wings, as it flies into the great beyond.

Lately, there is just so much to ponder,
but I don't believe in beliefs anymore.
Maybe thoughts are just another way to escape this world,
or maybe the world only exists in these thoughts.

I find it hard to remain optimistic at times. The gloom washes over me like the sea. But life is filled with ups and downs.

I could picture the images as well a the feelings in this one. Great job. I think many can relate to this.

This poem is indeed very thoughtful. I liked the last stanza a lot. Thoughts and imagination really helps us to escape. I liked the scene you've created, it is beautiful.
