Summer Sports

Summer Sports

A Poem by Mick Burke
"

Inspired to activity by some beautiful weather.

"
On a day like this, when the sun has come out,
It's time to get active, get out and about.
I pull on a t-shirt, change into some shorts,
And get myself ready to play Summer sports.

Should I get out my racquet, or go kick a ball,
Should I go for a swim, backstroke or front crawl.
Should I root out my golf clubs, or oil up my bike,
Should I head for the mountains, and take a long hike.

No.... I think that I'll do what I do every year,
I'll sit in the sunshine and drink a cold beer.

Hahahaha!!! Don't we all end up doing that very same thing!!! I love what you do with your poetry!!! Love that tongue in cheek humour that peeks through in some places, and that raw emotion that strikes at the heart in others!!! You have great messages to give and I am annoyed that you are not getting a following here!!! You have one major fan in me!!! alf
