the problem with monogomy

A Poem by Ed X
"
persona poem about a man on his wedding day finds out his fiance has been cheating on him.
"

I have come to realize
The distance between our eyes.
The revelation of the three holy ghosts
Shall never be cast upon my soul.
Damnation has to much at stake.
It’s eternity they’re asking for.

And the distance in your eye
Is like a flake in a snow globe.
Ever so slightly drifting down,
Down to collide with all other eyes.
Soon they’ll all look the same,
Filled with that empty gaze.

I wish I had not come to realize
This changing distance of your eyes.
How I long to be lost within them
To look inside each others eyes
And gaze upon nothing but beauty
But alas you have chosen their path.

Your heart no longer sways aimlessly
To the irregular beats of mine.
No longer do the throbs of love
Echo in the canyon that is you chest,
At least in passion and lusts vocation
They must be on vacation for awhile.

Much like them I shall take leave.
Allow myself to be rid of you,
Who sees me rather translucent,
I shall search for a new set of eyes
As you have already found someone’s.
I bid you fare well my fiance.
