Silvicultrix

Silvicultrix

A Poem by Midge Marie

I belong to the forest,

I belong to the wind and the trees.

I belong to the stars and the moonlit sky.

Oh, how I have missed the woods, with its angelic beauty.

It has such a rustic and alluring appeal.

I admire the trees,

I love the way they sway with the breeze.

Oh, how I have needed the water from the flowing stream to

Cleanse my body and my soul.

Many a time I have prayed for hope to get me through the day,

For I have been away from my home and my haven for far too long.

Many have told me that my cries of longing

Have echoed across the deep valley.

But now I am home.

Many would deem it cold and forsaken.

But never have I, for this place held hollow ground.

It has always been kind and dear.
I belong to the forest,
I belong to the trees and the wind.
And I am happy here.
