The Passing of a Beautiful Stranger

The Passing of a Beautiful Stranger

A Poem by MightyMouse

His eyes, like two boundless seas, and I long to set sail, to brave those dark oceans on a driftwood raft, to be capsized in the cold waters and drown in them.

His smile, so bright as to outshine the brightest of stars in the night sky, and my only wish is that it was for I.

His voice forces all thought from my mind and air from my lungs. I am spinning wildly out of control, but I am not afraid.

I should be afraid. This dark stranger who sets my heart racing and my palms sweating, though it is not fear that I feel, but wonder.

Then, into the shadows that brought him, he vanishes. This place is now a shade darker, though only to I, for it was I alone that felt his passing and I alone who shall grieve in his absence.

Author's Note

MightyMouse
I haven't been on in a very long time and I haven't done very much writing, but I'm trying to get back in the swing of things. As I've mentioned before, my poetry isn't the greatest, but I'm assuming anyone could relate to this in some way or another. Still, I'm only writing for the enjoyment of it and I hope someone out there can enjoy it too.

Hey MM,

I can relate to this piece for sure. I mean, sometimes, we do pass a stranger who can really get our hearts racing and we secretly wish that they would notice us and we could get talking already. The world is filled with beautiful people everywhere and it is only a pity that we are all living as strangers. Towards a more connected global community, I hope pieces of art like this one connects us better.

Cheers.
