Check Mate

Check Mate

A Poem by MikeTheMechanic
"

Chess, a perfect allegory for war, black vs white, conflict that hinges on differences

"

The pieces around you can't define you,
But you let it,
Take a look at what's controlling you,
Don't you get it?
A lone pawn is forever a pawn,
To be used,
Abused,
Sacrificed for the King and the Queen,
There are are however,
Many many pawns.

Position your brothers on life's chess board,
Tactful moves,
Think ahead
Surround YOUR King,
He can't leave you for dead.

White King says Black King is bad,
Black King tells his pawns what White said,
But this game is for real,
Its engraved in your head.

The war seems now endless,
And produces just hate,
Turn on your King,
For a faster
Check-Mate.
