Becoming Me

Becoming Me

A Poem by Millie
"

When parents need to let go. . .

"
I'll start to let go
Ignore what you say
Words not to be said will escape my lips
You won't see me for weeks on end
Sleeping when you leave
Leaving before you come home
You'll worry
I won't
You'll scream and shout
Tell me to go to my room
Maybe even kick me out
You'll say I'm obviously old enough
To know right from wrong
You'll want me back
But too late for you
I'll be out living my life
Becoming me
What I've always meant to be

Love this poem, the teenage thoughts that we all go through are well captured :)

This is a very interesting poem. I had to read it twice to truly get it. It is a nice piece however so keep writing!

Hmm, I don't know whether to think of this as a "growing up" poem, or a, "that's life," poem. I guess growing up IS life, but yeah hehe. Great work!
