When the Cracks Spread

When the Cracks Spread

A Poem by Minjoph
"

Of friendship and love broken.

"
Sometimes you meet someone
It all seems to make sense
Time goes by
You laugh, you cry
You fight, you make up
Time goes by and the bond grows

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger
And nothing kills this bond
If there's one thing you can count on it's your friend
That's how it feels

Up in the skies, soaring high
Once you trust blindly in the strength of a bond
Trusting another person fully
It's a long free fall to the ground
And you can only hope they'll catch you

Once they fail you the cracks are there
In the mirror that is your bond
And yet friendship endures
You try and patch up the cracks

The next time you're on the edge
Do you hesitate to jump?
Do you trust they'll catch you this time?
The next time they fall from the skies
Do you give it your all to catch them?
Or does the memory of betrayal make you think twice?

And for every fall the cracks grow and spread
The reflection of your friend becomes twisted
One day the words in the mirror spell "Enemy"
And you wonder;
When did it all go wrong?
When did we pass the point of no return?
