Once Again

Once Again

A Poem by MissKatiekat

And so you're back,
Once again standing outside,
Knocking on the door to my heart.
My head is swimming with memories, of every time you left me,
Every time you lied,
And every time I regretted letting you back in.

But my heart is beating with the memories of every kiss,
Every smile,
Every laugh,
Every night we climbed to the roof of that same building, looking out at the stars,
And waiting for the sun to rise.

My eyes are filling with tears.
My hands are shaking.
And I'll try to stand on my trembling knees.
But I know, deep inside myself,
That eventually my knees will give,
And I will fall,
Once again,
For you.
