Babylon

Babylon

A Poem by Ana B.

I’ve got one breath left. What to do with it….

From a whisper to a scream…one breath…

I’ve got this piece that doesn’t seem to fit

In this ocean with no bottom and no depth

Your heart’s a flicker to this flame…

A burning fire, heating me at night

Will I be able to stay sane…

When you promise to hold me tight?

Chasing snowflakes…again

Those who feel, can’t claim armistice

Chasing snowflakes…even in the rain…

Cause heart is war and love…a pacifist.

Thank you .
A really powerful piece. All is fair in love and war and we are all soldiers of both. I particularly love the last stanza, as well as the use of ellipsis which to me construes a frustration involved with the emotions shown in this piece?

People who know the true cost of war will become pacifist. Guns and bombs kill without caring if Muslim, Christian or any other belief. Thank you Ana for sharing the outstanding poetry.

Will I be able to stay sane…
When you promise to hold me tight?

Brilliant as always and confessing the surrounding.
Great.

Thank you my dear for being so sweet :)
i like the opposites in play here, and how they are complementing each other...the heat, the cold, the war, the pacifist...
love puts our heart at war...it is never all peace and calm---maybe the scream for the last breath is the smartest road. At least it lets out the pent up emotions, either way.
