La belle dame

La belle dame

A Poem by Ana B.
"

ruffling old pages.....

"

A black beauty is dancing

Amongst the cobalt tears…

Those tears demanding

Her affections so fierce…

Her wishes of quartz…

And dreams of aquamarine

Brighter than the stars

With their light pristine…

In her palace of moonshine

The beauty stays untouched

Because it’s hard to define

What have those tears washed…

Is it the light of the laughing stars?

Or the ashes of a dream…

Or maybe the invisible scars

Of a heartbreaking wince…

'Is it the light of the laughing stars?
Or the ashes of a dream…'

Beautifully visual words throughout, especially the above.

Realised on my second read that you've used few words yet painted a distinct series of miniatures about your 'black beauty. Here she is within a brevity of time, dramatic yet delicate. You select words so well, Ana.

Sometimes we DO need to "refresh" our NOW existence with a remembrance of our yesterday ...

Lady, you must publish this poetry along your other novel-writing work. It's one of my favorites & it's true, has too many emotional attachments of love & memories... found into the flicker of tear-drops. May be, this poetry deserves having a background music (very soft opera one), cause, it's written with heart. Liked reading it! You've a talent of touching the heart!
