A Poem by Amber Smith

A reprieve
All torment and anguish
Diminished; vanished
Gone away with a thank you

Baffled and unaware
Questioning the reality
Elated but fearful
How can this be in my presence?

Watching in the past
Completely ignorant
Shrouded in the bliss of it
Until I saw something tangible

A familiar soul
Oh, but so much more
Replaced the dread in my chest
With unbelievable joy

I would have,
Could have never fathomed
This was a possibility
And yet, here we are

This is an amazing progression from a state of anguish to a place of joy. I find it interesting & original, the way you throw out ideas & feelings to show instead of tell (first rule of good writing) how this progression goes. Each reader can find a similar life experience to relate to personally -- having an awesome surprise in life that renews our spirit & hope. Very inspiring as a message & also for your way of crafting it (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Thank you so much!
How you handle your stanzas is really solid. Your work ebbs and flows, with the right pauses. It wouldn't be hard to speak this aloud and it sound gorgeous. What you do is just all around very pleasing and intelligent.
