NaPoWriMo 9 2017

A Poem by BlueJay

It's been far too long
since we've left the windows
open at midnight and
even though the scenery
has changed and the
neighbors are much closer
(they can hear everything
we do or say anyway)
let's leave the window open
tonight and watch all the
leaves waltzing in,
thinking they're the new
hip sort of flower petals.
Then while Time ticks
away the stars can
light up your face
as we find ourselves
in the pieces of each other -
it's been way too long
since we've done this.
