Innocent Love

Innocent Love

A Poem by Maudlin Kat
"

Self-loathing love poem written during a troubling time. (11/2005)

"
Turn your eyes away
Cast not your sight upon me
There is an evil moon
Rising in my heart
As all hope
Is setting on my soul
Please do not witness
This my demise
Do not allow me to corrupt
The love that you harbor inside
These walls of hate that bind me
Cannot be breached;
And when all eyes are upon you
There’s no place for you to hide
Quick, hold me in the blink of the shadow
A fast embrace before the fasting of my love
Close your eyes
Close your eyes and remember our happiest time
Smile as if you are reliving that day
Let me remember you this way
You my innocent love
