Know me

Know me

A Poem by Mr. Lopez

Muddied are the waters
Of afterthought
The bridge's burnt
The rainbows sought

Fickle are the fingers
Of this and that
The who,the what
The where I'm at

I climb, I crawl,
I jump and skip
I'm known for shooting
From the hip

It's no surprise
I say, I do
Like yourself
My point of view

I wrote a poem
I sang a song
The rhythm was off
The words were wrong

I stepped on my own toes
I skipped my own beat
I stood for myself
And then took a seat

Outspoken and broken?
Well....that describes me
Although the outcome
Has yet to be

Good poem and message! Whether "outspoken" or "broken," a person who conforms to nothing but his/her own character and principles is the person most worth knowing--genuine and true, even if imperfect in the eyes of others. Nice work!
