At the ATM with WC poets

At the ATM with WC poets

A Poem by Mrudula Rani
"

Contemplating

"
It is the beginning of the month! Bills have to be paid,
Money withdrawals had to be made;
In some shops you dare not use a credit card...
With their easy ways of card-cloning,
Trusting some establishments is out of the question!

Caixa Eletrônica; the ATM,
No longer stays open twenty four hours: changing times...
From exploding one ATM agency per a week,
and at gun-point robbing the customers on the street,
The bandits are a busy lot!
Even with bank's adequate police on the spot!

With the ever shrinking number of self-banking outlets, the place
Is over crowded at certain hours.
When waiting queues get longer, people seem to become meaner!
You would be surprised with what you hear in a standing-line!
The comments they make about some one they don't know,
and never met before.
While waiting, my mind shifted a gear,
And wondered how my friends at WC
would depict the scenario?

Nigel Newman, musician Poet,
With melodious lyrics, masterful phrases
Would pen a poem!
Analytically concluding the state of a crowded ATM!

Neville Pettitt in his unique and extraordinary terms,
Would kindly put the situation in a nutshell: usually a gem!
And wish us,
"All good things"

Margie ( Barelygirl) with her outstanding expressing style,
Would state the circumstances with wisdom, and wit
While pondering on the gorgeous guys with six pack in the joint.
Leaving you wanting to dance to her infectious rhythmic beat!

Debbie Barry sure to pen a story!
The Day At The ATM
To the critics acclaim!

Sami Khalil would philosophize the state of affairs,
Post a painting of equality and justice... never fair!
Making sure we notice the man selling cloth-sacks for mopping floors
out side the doors,
And the old woman sitting on the steps, asking for coins that
You could spare!

Finally, Paul Bell,who has gotten
into my head with his brilliant banter.
Probably would have a scintillating talk,
With the supervising pretty manager of the bank
And walk out with her for a drink!

Never knew waiting in the ATM queue was so exciting. I've always wished the machine would malfunction, and give me all the money.
Though blowing it up, is my second wish.
You did say the manageress was pretty, didn't you. lol

Thank you my dear Mrudula, all sentiments well & truly appreciated x
First, I'm honored to be part of your poem . . . thanks for that! But even more so, I'm honored to be amongst the writers you chose, becuz they're some of my favorites here, too! I love the way your imagination took this one to a very original place, showing us that you really do pay attention to the various writing styles & how they might manifest in the strife-filled world. Now where are all those six-pack abs on young lads, anyhow? *wink! wink!* (((HUGS))) fondly, Margie
