Deleted messages;
For I doubted the heart!

Deleted hopes;
For promises were never kept.

Deleted thoughts;
For I Reconsidered my mind.

Deleted plans;
For you forgot the talks we had.

Deleted conversations;
For I never got in a word.

Deleted poems;
Declaration of love made no difference!

Deleted dreams;
For they were only castles in the air

Deleted friendships;
Of those who never cared for my affections!

Deleted no memories;
Seemed like that is all the treasure I have!

Deleted no past;
For it had been imprinted on my soul!
I need to look back to see why I loved!

Mrudula Hi. This works well. If you know anyone who writes songs and is better at music than words then show them this - it lends itself very much to being a song lyric. One part that read strangely was the double negative 'deleted' lines at the end. Just felt odd. I think you mean you were unable or unwilling to delete the past or the memories, but it just read a little strangely to me.

Assuming you mean they were not deleted, I could imagine an actor reciting this poem. They would emphasise each 'deleted', thus setting up a beautiful contrast that would make people sit up as they would then say 'Not deleted' ... and pause. The listener would wonder what was not deleted, and then the actor would say. Just a different possible treatment.

Though "Deleted" reads like negativity inside but there's a lot positivity I found here...
You may have vented out your ire but you also took out something soulful from your inner....

what a huge difference between this and your oldest posted poem ..the couplets lend strength in form and the repetition of delete is so up to date ... how nice and easy it would be if we had such a button ...and actually worked when heart broken ..oh my goodness ... i love that idea .. just hit delete and "it" is gone ...i like the healthy turn you take in keeping some things..like the past and memories as we would loose who we are without them ... and like you say in closing ... we learn by looking back .. :)

Life is but a mysterious road we tred on, Mrudula.Who knows what will happen next? Often, the more effort we do, to make someone stay, the least effective it proves to be for them. It is often the people who make us smile us the most, who leave us in tears, regrets, and pain for the rest of our lives.And ironically, this is inevitable.

The messages, poems, conversations etc. can be deleted easily, and most do the same, but then, they are just a petty things we can delete, to console ourselves.But does that really help? No!
The mind may try forgetting, but the heart never forgets.Instead, it collects the memories and keeps with it.

What hurts the most when a person leaves, is the memories we had with them, and sadly, those memories can never be deleted by any means. .And later, it is these memories that hurts and haunts bad later.


Time has its own way of intoducing people in our life, taking them away from us, hurting, healing, and caressing our wounds...And sooner or later, things get better...But yes, that void and those memories that the person left, remains with us forever.

That's the cycle of life, and we all go through this wanning and waxing phase.But still, the brighter side is, that it makes us a stronger and better person than we were before.And maybe that's why we all go through it, sometimes :)
